Transfer to Sabrata Half day tour guided in Sabratha Situated to the west of Tripoli .Established at the beginning of the first Millennium B.C. and is one of the three cities which were called Tripolis by the old Greeks , on its eastern side ,there is the Roman theatre , the most complete example of the Roman semi circular theatres in the world .
The Punic mausoleum is situated at the dwelling quarter to the south of the Byzantine wall .Most of its ruins dated to the first and second centuries A.D. Sabratha streets divided the city into squares according to the Hellenistic system.
Sabratha flourished throughout the third century A.D. and was damaged by asevere earthquake in the fourth century.
In 533 A.D. Sabratha was occupied by the Byzantine, and was fortified during JUSTINIAN reign by some forts and walls , at that time they also established a church, its hall floor covered by mosaics.
The named mosaic was transmitted to Tripoli in 1931, and it is now preserved in the museum of Tripoli.
Excavation in Sabratha started in 1923 and continued till 1965 ,there is the Roman theatre &Sabrata museum .
